Prints at Craftisan

Craftisan is a new shop/gallery/cafe on the Wells Road in Totterdown, Bristol, UK.  Since they opened, I have been selling my prints and cards there.  Back in August, Emily asked me if I wanted to set up a small exhibition of my prints so I chose a selection of my textile collages and collagraph prints, mostly of local scenes of Bristol and Somerset.

Here we go again, countdown to Christmas, starting with Totterdown’s Front Room Art Fair.  I will be in the Jarman Hall at the Totterdown Baptist Church on the Wells Road in Totterdown, Bristol. It will be open from 12-6pm on Saturday and 12 – 5pm on Sunday.  As well as some fantastic art and craft on sale, there is a lovely cafe selling drinks and lovely home-made cakes, all run by volunteers from the church.  It’s going to be a rainy weekend so what’s better than to go shopping and enjoy yourself!

Events for Christmas 2011

Interiors Exhibition

I am part of a wonderful exhibition at the Winds of Change Gallery in Winchcombe, Gloucestershire where Jane, the gallery owner has selected a beautiful collection of contemporary arts and antiques to create inspirational room settings. The exhibition will close on 23rd December, it’s really worth a look and a trip to find something that is not on your high street.

What’s under your tree?

Colston Hall are holding another popular Christmas Gift Fair on Saturday and Sunday 10th and 11th December where you can buy unique gifts and art from local artists and designers. I will be there on Sunday 11th December on the 2nd floor. I will be bringing prints and cards as well as some originals to incite the Christmas cheer and get the present lists ticked!

Wedding present

View from the top, Textile Collage

I really wanted to make a beautiful picture for my good friend, Sue’s wedding. Sue loves the outdoors – she regularly climbs mountains in Snowdonia and has a strong affinity with Scotland where she used to live so I wanted to create something that would remind her of places she had been to and hopefully an image that she could look at everyday that would draw her in.  Certainly it had that effect on me when I was making it.
Anyway, I think they both liked it and it’s the first picture I haven’t framed, just stretched over a frame which makes it very tactile but also quite raw and fresh.
